Matthew 27:25
25All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"

Every time I read this verse I just want to cry. This is exactly what happens. If we do not except the gift of salvation that Christ offers us, then we are guilty of murdering Him. A sad and scary thought. His blood is on our hands and the hands of all generations after us and before us. Each of us are covered in a blood that no human can wash out. That no person can cover and hide. That no one can do anything with except to bring it before our Lord Jesus Christ and have Him heal and cleanse us.

Isaiah 1:18
18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
